 About 40 percent of diabetic patients are affected by kidney disease. This can happen at any time after a diabetes diagnosis. So in this case it is important for diabetics to be careful. Diabetics should have their kidneys checked every few days.

High blood pressure

High blood pressure is one of the main causes of renal damage. High blood pressure can also contribute to the development of kidney disease, heart disease, and stroke. Therefore, it's crucial to maintain high blood pressure under control.

Some ways to prevent kidney disease are:

  • Eat nutritious food regularly.
  • Drink enough water.
  • Abstain from smoking.
  • Never take medication for a sickness without consulting a doctor first.

If all these rules are followed, the risk of kidney disease is reduced in most cases.

Kidney patient food list

It is very important to eat nutritious food if you have kidney disease. The patient's food list has to be arranged keeping in mind various factors. Diabetes, high blood pressure should be kept under control and the food list should be arranged.

Sour fruits such as: lemon, orange, amlaki, malta, mango etc. should be excluded from the diet. Apart from this, bananas, dried fruits or dry fruits, tomatoes, which are high in potassium, should be avoided or eaten in small quantities. In addition, pineapples, apples, currants, pears, guavas,  elderberries etc. can be consumed in limited quantities.

In terms of vegetables, green vegetables and leafy vegetables should be excluded from the diet or eaten in small quantities. Potatoes, sweet potatoes should be avoided and onions, radishes, carrots can be eaten in limited quantity. Purine-containing pulses, beans, pulses, etc. should not be consumed. Besides, vegetables such as brinjal, cockle, beans, bitter gourd, sweet pumpkin, rice pumpkin, cauliflower, radish etc. can be eaten.

As milk or milk-like foods are high in calcium, these foods should be excluded from the diet. Because taking too much calcium in kidney disease puts pressure on the kidney which causes damage.

Besides, beef, beef should be excluded from the diet. Chicken meat, pigeon meat, eggs, cheese etc. can be eaten. If you don't have diabetes, you can eat sugary foods. Also, packaged foods, soft drinks, canned water, fast food or junk food, fried foods with excess oil and refined sugar etc. should be completely avoided. Smoking should also be avoided.
